Parents Need to Seek Care NOW!
We’ve seen that treating behavioral problems and other conditions is easier in children that it is in adults. As adults, behavioral problems such as ADHD, depression, anxiety or anger issues may be complicated and deep rooted.
We can provide these adults with as many treatments as we can think of, but the one underlying cause of their development of these conditions may have never been solved: sleep disordered breathing.
Untreated Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) leads to:
- Daytime sleepiness
- Agression
- Irritability
- Hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD)
- Restricted child growth and mental development
- Speech and Language Impairment
- Mood swings
- Adenoid facie or long face with sunken eyes, narrow pinched nostrils, high arched narrow palate with crowded and protruding teeth.
- Low forward tongue posture at rest (further visible by protrusion of the tongue through the teeth and lips)
- Open lips at rest
Our doctors believe that the next stage of evolution in the dental profession is in the correction of habits at an early stage and Dr. T’s message to parents is two fold:
One, make sure your child is breathing through the nose with the mouth shut and
Two, never limit the forward or lateral growth of the face, rather, do everything you can to encourage it.
Kids should feel healthy, active and strong throughout their childhood lives.
The earlier you seek help for your child, the better the outcomes.
